LeRoc is similar to SALSA but danced to modern music, its great fun and easy to learn. LeRoc often referred to as Salsa jive, Modern Jive etc was developed in the UK about 20 years ago as a social partner dance that can be danced to modern & chart music.
LeRoc
is very easy to learn, with around 20 basic moves and an estimated 400
Intermediate moves, you are able to develop you own combination of moves and
style creating a fun social dance. Most
people are able to dance a routine of the basic moves taught that evening, by the
end of their first night.
LeRoc in Liscard is run by LeRoc Merseyside , bringing Professional Modern Jive Instruction to the North West. We teach modern Jive including the Footwork often not taught, learning the footwork in the long term has shown to raise the level of a dancers ability, improves their timing, allows more style as the dancers improve and makes it easier to dance to a wider variety of music. l
If taught correctly LeRoc Modern Jive can also be danced very slow and very close (called the Blues, dirty dancing -see below for Dirty Dancing demo), or to a faster tempo like chart music, and even to fast music like Rock n Roll. One of the great things about LeRoc is that its fun to learn and its great aerobic exercise.
You don't need to bring a partner. LeRoc is a modern dance that was developed to meet the needs of modern society. During normal weekly lessons (Beginner & Intermediate), partners continually rotate. This method of teaching makes it great fun and a good way to make new friends. This is an easy fun dance to learn and it is a very social evening.
